my sister's eldest daughter, Natalie, is celebrating her 21st b-day today. i cannot believe it. well, i hope you're enjoying it immensely, Natalie, because it's all downhill from here ;)
heck, i know she's living it up...Miami, FL is not exactly a quiet city. methinks it's time to drop in on her...before the year is out.

always thinking of travel. yesterday, i perused through an old guidebook that we used for Bolivia and Peru in 2001. however, instead of reminiscing about that trip, i found myself reading the Ecuador section, feasting on its turbulent history. did you know that from 1931 to 1948, Ecuador saw 21 presidents ultimately resign from the 'coveted' post? it was probably better to be the shit sweeper for the country's fattest, stinkiest pig.
